Oinochoe

Wide trefoil mouth; short neck, tapering upwards; moulding at junction between neck and shoulder; bulging shoulder; lower part of body slightly concave; raised, vertical, double handle from rim to shoulder; above base the wall turns sharply outwards, with two encircling ridges; flat ring base. Buff slip; reddish brown paint; added purple and buff; incisions. Outside of handle, rim and neck painted; painted brown eye(s) on mouth; on upper part of neck two buff dot-rosettes and nine buff blobs close to moulding; brown rays on the reserved shoulder; on belly an incised frieze with details in added buff and purple on brown background: a bearded sphinx, a panther, a winged horse, an owl with outspread wings (beneath handle) and a double fish — all moving to the right except the owl, which is seen en face; above and below this an encircling purple band; on lower body three purple bands.
