The book presents the history of the All Saints Parish in Łososina Górna in Poland, one of the oldest parishes in the Tarnów Diocese. Subsequent chapters characterize its history from the Middle Ages until the present day. The medieval period is described by Dorota Żurek, who worked with fragmentary sources to extract the names of the earliest parsons, benefactors, and patrons of the parish as well as its incomes. The early modern times are examined by Mirosław Płonka, who had more extensive material at his disposal, mainly records of pastoral visitations, with the oldest of 1596. This allowed him to establish the income of the parish, furnishing and fittings of the temple, as well as the names of the priests serving in Łosina and the church collators, who were typically the owners of villages on the parish area. Płonka even attempted to estimate the number of people living in individual hamlets. A detailed picture of the parish in the times of the partitions of Poland until WWII is presented by Konrad Meus. On top of the painstaking precision with which he recreates the material status of the parish and its clergy as well as the relevant organizational changes, the text also reveals the social significance of the parish, including efforts to overcome alcohol abuse, so important in the 19th century, as well as the fate of the parishioners during the catastrophe of the WWI. In a separate section, Konrad Kołodziejczyk demonstrates the historic demography of the parish and compiles the list of the names of parishioners, extracted from the register books preserved since the early 1600s. The difficult times of WWII and Poland under the communist rule are discussed by Krzysztof Kloc. This period is poorly documented in sources. Many events have never been recorded in writing, therefore, the author made use of oral accounts of the fewer and fewer living witnesses. The most recent period since 1989 is presented by Janusz Guzik in the chronical form, based mainly on weekly parish notices. A separate chapter devoted to the church itself is written by its conservator, Anna Forczek-Sajdak. It contains the most up-to-date data about the building with its furnishings and fittings, resulting from the current conservation. The book is a complete history of one of the oldest parishes in the Nowy Sącz Archdeaconate and the Tarnów Diocese.
