The HAWK: Platform for Earth Observation Data Processing
View through CrossRef
The CNES (Centre National d'Études Spatiales) has developed the HAWK [1] (High resolution Altimetry WorKspace) framework as part of its expertise in supporting Earth observation missions. This platform, actually tailored for the SWOT [2] (Surface Water and Ocean Topography) mission, operates on the CNES High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure and is strongly linked with the SWOT routine mission center. HAWK provides a collaborative environment for hydrological and oceanographic data analysis, enabling remote access to extensive datasets without local downloads. Currently operational, the platform supports SWOT expertise activities and offers plethora of user tutorials [3]. Future developments aim to generalize HAWK for use with multiple Earth observation missions, expanding its accessibility and impact within the scientific community to promote EO data. We also have for objective to offer open training session to the communities.
