Il De Trinitate di Fulgenzio di Ruspe nell’eredità teologica di Agostino

This study begins by setting the historical and biographical context in which Fulgentius of Ruspe composed his texts on trinitarian theology, while also shedding light on the theological landscape of the period. It then delves into an analysis of the main doctrinal aspects of the De Trinitate ad Felicem notarium, exploring concepts such as the uniqueness of essence and the plurality of persons, the person as relation, absolute and relative attributes, the full divinity of the Son and the Holy Spirit, the Filioque, and the Trinitarian analogies of the soul. Through this examination, a methodological and content-related continuity with Augustinian references emerges, as well as the intellectual-cultural dimension of Fulgentius as a theologian with extensive and precise preparation, adept at clear exposition and skilled in synthesis.
