This text aims to understand the circulation of Modern Swedish Gymnastics in Brazil through the contributions of the Swede Curt Johansson. The European gymnastics movement rose in the late 18th century, guided by an approach to the body grounded in scientific principles. Among the methods that emerged, Swedish gymnastics, created by Pehr Henrik Ling, stood out. In Brazil, the Swede Curt Johansson is recognized for presenting Modern Swedish Gymnastics. For this study, cultural history frameworks were used, as well as Boaventura's collection and specialized Physical Education journals. A central figure in Johansson's arrival in Brazil was the educator Boaventura, who invited him to the country. Johansson had texts published in journals and was invited to teach courses in Brazil, including a training course. Johansson came to Brazil to spread his work at a time when Brazil was debating how Physical Education should be structured.
