SECURITY CRISIS MANAGEMENT IN THE WESTERN BALKANS

The aim of this paper is to analyze the security crisis in the Western Balkans, especially from the aspect of crisis management - crisis management. The research had a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, information is given about the origin of the term "Western Balkans" and the security crisis is defined. In the empirical part of the paper, the bearers of security crisis management in the region and their interests were investigated. The following scientific methods were primarily used in the research: comparative, case study and content analysis. The key results of the research are: 1) The term Western Balkans is a geopolitical coin, not a scientifically derived term; 2) Security crisis is a common term for all aspects of the crisis in the region; 3) The security crisis in the region is managed by NATO, with attempts to include the European Union and individual countries; 4) Interests are a key factor in crisis management in the Western Balkans. A short conclusion of the work can be as follows: In the Western Balkans, a serious security crisis is underway, managed by NATO, with a slight influence of the European Union and the countries of the region.
