Ferdinand Uličný a jeho pôsobenie v Štátnom archíve v Prešove

Prof. PhDr. Ferdinand Uličný, DrSc. served as the director of the State Archive in Prešov from 1958 to 1961. In his capacity as the head of the team, he compiled the Guide to the State Archive in Prešov. He primarily processed medieval and early modern documents to ensure their accessibility to researchers and the public. For this purpose, he prepared inventories of several archival funds, including The House of Druget (Drugeth) from Humenné and The House of Uz (Usz) from Uzovce. In 1972, F. Uličný returned to the State Archive in Prešov as a professional archivist and researcher after being forced by the socialist state government to leave the university. Subsequently, he made other archival documents available in the form of catalogues, such as The House of Farkas from Záborské and the oldest books and congregational minutes of the Šariš County. In 1979, F. Uličný was awarded The Pavel Križko Medal for his contribution to the development of Slovak archivistics. Additionally, he devoted himself to scientific and publishing activities. From 1987 to 1988 he served as the deputy head of the archive, where he worked until 1990, when he returned to the university after the fall of the socialist regime.
