Un consul al României în Polonia interbelică: George-Traian Gallin

This study analyzes some aspects of the activity of Consul George-Traian
Gallin in Poland, in Warsaw and Lvov (Lemberg, today Lviv), between 1922 and
1936. Gallin was an element of continuity in the representation of the interests of the
Romanian state in interwar Poland, being the diplomat who served the longest
uninterrupted period in the Romanian diplomatic service in Poland. Gallin headed
the career consulate in Lvov for almost nine of the more than 14 years he spent in
Poland, making him a special case among Romania's career consuls. His activity in
the field of cultural diplomacy and the promotion of Romania's economic interests
was intense and appreciated by the leadership in Bucharest. The consul in Lvov was
also known for his political reports, especially on the status of minorities and Soviet
propaganda in southern Poland.
