The present work is an attempt to write a history of the creation, development and establishment of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI), as one of the main structural units of Shumen University and its professional fields. Part of the content is influenced by the written History of Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski" [1] and History of Departments at Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski" (1971-2011) [2].
