Summary. - A hoard of 293 coins, acquired in 1989, contains 289 of the « bare-head » deniers (Schlumberger, plate 2, 20) which are attributed to Prince Bohémond III of Antioch (1149-1201). The hoard belongs late in the sequence of the « bare-heads » type, perhaps c. 1 160, for it contains a relatively high proportion of the latest varieties, E and F (previously designated El and E2). The autors discuss the significance of the crescent mark superimposed on the neck of the portrait. They suggest that it may mark a regency. The hoard shows that variety F is of exceptionally light weight, but that the flans are relatively accurately adjusted.
