Occupying part of a single paragraph in the published autobiography, Memoirs of a Revolutionary, the Polish-Belgian novelist, journalist, and revolutionary, Victor Serge, almost casually speaks of his escape in 1941 to Mexico from Marseille in Vichy France:Some of us whose lives were in danger eventually made our exit.
