Abstract In Chapter 14, a number of experimenter characteristics were shown to be related to the operation of experimenter expectancy effects. The particular characteristics discussed could all be assessed before the experimenter entered his laboratory. This chapter continues the discussion of experimenter variables, with emphasis on the experimenter's behavior in his interaction with the subject.
