Rectangular buckle with a mixtilinear profile, made of cast silver. The gilt silver applications common in other similar pieces have been replaced on this occasion by deep burin lines that design gadroons on the smaller sides, and two drops and a rectangle on the smaller ones. Silver hemispheres with stamped circles have been placed on the corners. The hinge is of iron, of trapezoidal form, and is articulated with the nail by means of a hinge; it has lost the hook. \According to Wattenberg García (1999: 108, nº 115), in the Provincial Museum of Valladolid there is a pair of identical shoe buckles, which are part of the set of the so-called Tesorillo de Cabezón. These buckles bear the mark of the contrast Bernabé Sahagún Hidalgo and of an unidentified silversmith (T / [...]GB ). The aforementioned contrast, whose activity is documented in 1824-1825 and 1849-50, also appears on a pair of buckles in the Museo del Traje, as well as on another pair recently auctioned in Madrid. \In the Spanish context this type of buckles reproduced throughout the nineteenth century models that had been fashionable in Europe during the previous century. They are very baroque pieces from the decorative point of view and still with a functionality in relation to the tongue of the shoe. As for their use, they are buckles commissioned to silversmiths for wedding shoes or special occasions, always related to traditional women's clothing. \This set of jewellery was bought by Elvira Lucena from 'Tía Quina'. According to Francisca Becerro, 'La cirujana', the 'Tía Quina' was María Hoyos.
