Knee pad from woman's trouser leg, in coloured silks on linen, Cyprus, early 19th century. Tapestry woven embroidery in coloured silks on linen: lozenge pattern in madder-red outlined with indigo-blue, and with touches of yellow, green and gold; straight line divides the pattern towards each end and at the ends of the lozenges, which could come behind the knee, are smaller.
