DISTRIBUTION OF ELODEA CANADENSIS FROM LAKE MACRO PRESPA
View through CrossRef
Research on the distribution of Elodea canadensis was carried out in 6 localities from the Macro Prespa Lake in the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia (Stenje, Oteševo, Ezerani, Asamati, Krani and Nakolec). Of all recorded macrophyte species, only Elodea canadensis is a allochthonous (non-native) species for Lake Prespa and it is present in two localities (Stenje and Oteševo). Since this species has a wide ecological tolerance and grows relatively quickly, its uncontrolled spread in the future could adversely affect the autochthonous macrophyte vegetation in Lake Prespa

Title: DISTRIBUTION OF ELODEA CANADENSIS FROM LAKE MACRO PRESPA
Description:
Research on the distribution of Elodea canadensis was carried out in 6 localities from the Macro Prespa Lake in the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia (Stenje, Oteševo, Ezerani, Asamati, Krani and Nakolec).
Of all recorded macrophyte species, only Elodea canadensis is a allochthonous (non-native) species for Lake Prespa and it is present in two localities (Stenje and Oteševo).
Since this species has a wide ecological tolerance and grows relatively quickly, its uncontrolled spread in the future could adversely affect the autochthonous macrophyte vegetation in Lake Prespa.
