Ichiyūsai Kuniyoshiga’s I様様 Ialbum by Utagawa Kuniyoshi about the 24 Chinese role models of child piety with lyrics by the well-known gesaku IIwriter Ryūkatei Tanekazu IIII( 1807-1858). The picture shows Ōshō Das (Wang Hsiang), an official, on the banks of a river in winter, where he succeeds in catching a fish for his sick mother despite the ice cover. For this he lies down with his naked body on the ice cover of a lake, which melts the ice and miraculously shows a carp.
