Metaforyka a frazeologia gwarowa

The article presents the application of the cognitive theory of metaphor to dialectal material. The author discusses four types of conceptual metaphors and dialectal phraseologies related to them. She distinguishes: 1. dead metaphors, 2. “dormant” metaphors, 3. vital metaphors and 4. new/fresh metaphors, illustrating them with examples of metaphorical expressions in the form of dialectal phraseologies. The author also postulates the study of dialectal metaphors present in the colloquial communication of rural residents.
