Effect of Ritu Haritaki as a Rasayana in Varsha Ritu w.s.r. to Quality of Life

Introduction: During Varsha Ritu (rainy season), the body experiences reduced strength (Bala), weakened digestive power (Agni), and aggravation of Vata Dosha. The present study involved the administration of Haritaki along with Saindhava (rock salt) and its evaluation through various parameters. The purpose of this research was to observe and understand the effects of this combination on different aspects of health during the Varsha Ritu. Aim and Objectives: The objectives of the study were to evaluate the effectiveness of Ritu Haritaki (Haritaki combined with Saindhava) as a Rasayana. It also aimed to examine the impact of Ritu Haritaki on improving quality of life. Materials and Methods: Total 10 healthy volunteers were selected for the research work based on inclusion criteria. Administration of Ritu Haritaki (Haritaki with Saindhava) as Rasayana, Sanshodhan Karma was done. After that dosage of Haritaki 3 gm in, along with Saindhava having dose of 500 mg for 60 days once a day in morning time empty stomach with lukewarm water. Result:  The data were analysed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results demonstrated In the WHOQOL-BREF scale, Domain 1 (Physical health) and Domain 2 (Psychological health) showed highly significant results (p < 0.001), Domain 3 revealed significant improvement, while Domain 4 showed moderately significant results. Conclusion: Ritu Haritaki (Haritaki combined with Saindhava) demonstrated remarkable benefits for both physical and psychological well-being, making it an effective Rasayana for use during Varsha Ritu.
