Dès 1529, donc bien avant la Familière Declaration (1553), des parties importantes de l'explication des Psaumes par Martin Bucer (1529) sont traduites en français. Simon Du Bois en édite les sommaires ; Olivétan propose une version française de la traduction latine du texte biblique par Bucer, et il révise en 1537 ce texte de 1535 ; E. Dolet édite, en 1542, les sommaires suivis du texte biblique de 1537 ; dès 1534, la traduction de la Paraphrase de Jan van Campen intègre des passages de la Préface bucérienne. Ceci, qui est ici suggéré par l'analyse du seul Psaume 1, est important pour l'histoire du problème biblique et de la vie religieuse dans le Royaume de France au cours de ces années.
