The informational basis of human locomotor interception behavior : lessons from curvilinear target trajectories

Les bases informationnelles de l'interception locomotrice : les leçons tirées des trajectoires de cible curvilinéaires
L'objectif de cette thèse était d'étudier les bases informationnelles du contrôle de l'interception locomotrice, en utilisant la méthode de la détection des inconsistances qualitatives (QuID) pour analyser la capacité des variables informationnelles à expliquer le comportement observé. Dans trois expériences, nous avons exploré l'interception locomotrice dans une tâche de contrôle de direction en réalité virtuelle. Les participants devaient intercepter des cibles se déplaçant de façon non-uniforme dans le plan horizontal, suivant une trajectoire soit curvilinéaire à vitesse constante, soit rectilinéaire à vitesse non-constante avec une accélération constante (opposée à la direction initiale de mouvement). Contrairement aux positions habituelles, la méthode QuID a révélé que le comportement observé ne pouvait être interprété comme résultant de l'annulation de la dérivée temporelle du premier ordre de l'angle cible-direction () ou l'angle de relèvement de la cible (). L'analyse approfondie de plus de 6000 essais individuels a révélé qu'une stratégie basée sur l'annulation de d/dt était viable pendant la première partie de l'action (jusqu'environ 1.0 s), tandis que les phases plus tardives nécessitaient une composante supplémentaire d'annulation de d2/dt2. En conclusion, l'interception locomotrice de cibles en mouvement non-uniforme ne peut pas être décrite de manière adéquate par les stratégies d'interception locomotrice existantes, définies par (i) l'angle considéré ( ou ) et (ii) sa dérivée temporelle d'ordre entier. Nous suggérons que l'interception locomotrice serait plutôt guidée par une dérivée temporelle d'ordre fractionnaire (dα/dtα) avec 1 < α < 2.
