This is a framed poster for the ITV television soap Emmerdale Farm, which first screened in October 1972. The soap is set in a fictional Yorkshire village, and was originally filmed in Arncliffe in North Yorkshire, then from the mid 1970s in Esholt in West Yorkshire, and now at the purpose-built set on the Harewood Estate near Leeds. This poster probably dates from 1977, and features a painted image of several characters, set against a backdrop of a sunset. The poster text reads ‘The Great Yorkshire Show is back on ITV // Emmerdale Farm // A new series returns to your screens this autumn from September 5th // See TV Times for details // Yorkshire Television // Member of the Trident Television Group’.
