Jacket with embroidery

Mrs M.G. Winkelman-Sanders embroidered this short jacket, based on a design by her husband Hendrik Jan Winkelman. He had started designing and producing decorative ironwork in Amsterdam in 1909 and also made embroidery patterns, probably for private use. The design in floss silk on the jacket is reminiscent of Amsterdam School architecture.
