The effect of algae biostimulators on the germination of Echinacea purpurea l. seeds

View through CrossRef
The article presents the results obtained from experiments on the use of algal biostimulants to stimulate the germination of Echinacea purpurea L. seeds, highlighting the effects observed. The algal biostimulants were obtained by combining the biomass of Nostoc gelatinosum, Nostoc punctiforme, and Nostoc linckia algae in various concentrations. The results showed a significant increase in the germinative capacity and germination index of Echinacea purpurea L. seeds treated with algal biostimulants compared to the control variants. The best results were obtained with algal biostimulants at a concentration of 1%, with a seed treatment time of 1 hour, and 3% with a treatment exposure of 3 hours. The use of algal biostimulants is recommended for treating Echinacea purpurea L. seeds to stimulate their germination.
