Elimination of nasal dorsum deviation with simultaneous correction of its height in preservation rhinoplasty
View through CrossRef
Objective. To develop the method for correction of mild nasal dorsum deviation following sail-shaped curvature of nasal septum with simultaneous correction of dorsum height in preservation rhinoplasty. Material and methods. This method was used in 47 cases between May 2022 and May 2023. All patients were female. Mean age of patients was 29 years (range 19-39). These patients underwent close rhinoplasty. Preservation rhinoplasty (Push Down technique) with septal cartilage dissection for dorsum lowering was accompanied by correction of nasal dorsum deviation via contralateral displacement and fixation by sutures. Results. We intraoperatively obtained favorable aesthetic results. No early and delayed postoperative complications were observed. Symmetrical and stable nasal dorsum was aligned with aesthetic center of the face. Conclusion. Original technique is valuable to eliminate nasal dorsum deviation, reduce the projection and prevent aesthetic and functional postoperative complications.
