Karol Marcinkowski and his relations with Poznań Hospital of Lord’s Transfiguration

Przypominający o wzajemnych związkach Karola Marcinkowskiego (1800-1846) i Szpitala Przemienienia Pańskiego w Poznaniu artykuł został zainspirowany jubileuszem 200-lecia powstania tego szpitala, który miał miejsce w 2023 r. Karol Marcinkowski pracował w Szpitalu Przemienienia Pańskiego, prowadzonym przez Siostry Miłosierdzia św. Wincentego a’Paulo, zaledwie kilka lat, w tym jako etatowy, naczelny lekarz szpitala od 26 grudnia 1828 r. do 7 listopada 1830 r. W tym czasie, a także po powrocie z emigracji, szczodrze wspierał go finansowo. Jako lekarz naczelny rozszerzył działalność szpitala o ambulatorium chirurgiczne oraz dla nieuleczalnie chorych, wprowadził zwyczaj spotkań lekarskich, służących samokształceniu i wzajemnej wymianie doświadczeń klinicznych. Kolejne pokolenia lekarzy tego szpitala odwoływały się w różnym stopniu do Marcinkowskiego jako wzoru lekarza, patrioty i działacza społecznego.
