GHALIB AN AVID LETTER WRITER

Ghalib remains the greatest poet of Urdu ghazal tradition. The way he qualified himself as a poet par excellence, he also opened newer dimensions in Urdu letter-writing. Ghalib was so enamoured of this genre that in several of his verses we find an imprint of his art of letter writing. This scribe has given a critical appraisal of the verses that betray Ghalib's art of writing letters.
