PALYNOLOGICAL COMPLEXES AND AGE OF VOLCANOGENIC DEPOSITS IN THE ANGARA-KATANGA REGION (Angara middle reaches)

Palynological complexes have been recognized for the first time and age of the Mid-Angarian tuffaceous strata, an area of largest iron-ore deposits of East Siberia, has been determined. It is established that volcanism in the Mid-Angara region manifested itself in three relatively short-term coeval steps of phreatomagmatism, which correspond to three units of products of explosive activity: the lower, Nevonka, the middle, Zelinda, and the upper, Yodarma, members. The three members are of the same type in taxonomic composition of palynological complexes and can be compared with ranges of tl]e Degalin Formation of the Angara region, Gagarii-Ostrov Formation of the Tunguska Basin, and Gramotein Formation of the Kuznetsk Basin. It was the reason for the considered deposits to be attributed to the Tatarian Stage of the Upper Permian and identified as the Kapaeva Formation. Within the Tatarian Stage of the Upper Permian the deposits are older than volcanites of the Tutonchana and Korvunchana formations in the central part of the Tunguska SynecIise.
