A man sits at a decorative green table, with open work at the sides and a scrolled base the length of the sides. He has one hand resting on a Guqin [seven-string musical instrument] but his head rests in his other hand and he looks listlessly to the side. He wears a blue and green robe decorated with dragons and goldfish. His hat is decorated with a peacock feather. On the left edge of the table is a tall green incense burner omitting black smoke. To the right is a servant in a gold robe and tasselled hat. His left hand is covered by his sleeve and he appears to carry another instrument. On pith paper which is trimmed with blue silk ribbon. Export watercolour for Western market.
