A man sits at a long ornate green table, writing on a white scroll with a paintbrush. He wears a plum/brown robe with a dragon design in gold and white. He wears a string of pearls and a peacock feather in his hat. At left is a servant. He is preparing ink and on the table and in a blue vessel are more brushes, an ink stone and other writing equipment. There is also teapot and two cups at far left. The servant wears gold trousers and a grey tunic with a blue sash. The background is left untouched. On pith paper trimmed with blue silk ribbon. Export watercolour for Western market.
