Autofiction, a literary genre that combines autobiography and fictional invention, offers a unique perspective on self-reinvention through writing. Popularized by Serge Doubrovsky in the 1970s, this concept explores the boundaries between reality and imagination, allowing the author to revisit and reconstruct their identity while reflecting on the human condition. This article examines autofiction in the works of Chloé Delaume, an emblematic figure of the genre, highlighting her innovative and introspective use of this literary form. Through her novel Une femme avec personne dedans (2012), Delaume interrogates the relationship between trauma and writing, deconstructs gender norms, and revisits societal expectations surrounding romantic love. Her writing delves into how trauma can be transformed into literary material, enabling a critical reassessment of social structures and gender impositions. This process opens a space for identity reconstruction, where creation and deconstruction coexist in dynamic tension.This article proposes an analysis based on three key aspects: the relationship between trauma and writing, the specific characteristics of autofiction in Delaume’s work, and the feminist issues concerning societal norms around love. By revealing the introspective and critical depth of her work, this study shows how Delaume redefines the literary and identity-based possibilities of autofiction.
