Tall and heavy "Hercules" vase made of red wine colored sodium glass. Designed by Ewa Gerczuk-Moskaluk for the Sudety Crystal Glass Factory in Szczytna in 1976. Red glass is obtained by using oxides of copper, selenium and gold.Height 41 cm Circumference at its widest point 53 cm The width of the filler is 8 cmThe first glassworks were established in Szczytna in the Middle Ages and they were the so-called forest smelters. A professional glass-making workshop was established in 1770 in Batorowo. In 1827, the Szczytno estate was purchased by Major Leopold von Hochberg, who expanded the factory operating here. After 1945, many eminent glass artists worked for the glassworks, including Zbigniew Horbowy and Stefan Sadowski. The glassworks was closed in 2014 and then dismantled
