AN ARCHETYPAL ANALYSIS OF TRUNKS FROM DRAGON BALL Z

The aim of this text is to describe and interpret the archetype of the carer present in Trunks (of the future), from the anime Dragon Ball Z, according to the perspective of archetypal semiotics, the result of which is the articulation of semiotics with archetypal psychology. In order to achieve the scope of this article, we followed the methodological-heuristic path of archetypal semiotics developed in "The semiotics of the hero: the conflagration of Son Goku's ascending path", in "The semiotics of the sage: an analysis of the constitution of Piccolo's journey in Dragon Ball Z" and in "The semiotics of the friend: an analysis of the composition of Kuririn's companionship in Dragon Ball Z". To do this, we used the Jungian conceptualisation of archetype which, in turn, makes it possible to apply extensively the four points of the basic needs of archetypal constitution on which the analysis is based, whose tension is to understand the valence of the main traits linked to the carer's semiotic structure. As a result of achieving the objective set out here, it was possible to see, among other things, the particularities of the carer archetype in Trunks, who subsequently ascends to his own hero's journey.
