View through Europeana Collections
A porcelain figurine of a boy, seemingly carrying a net to catch butterflies. Where it was made has yet to be determined; could it be from Staffordshire, or is it perhaps of German make (Meissen?). Dimensions: height 15.6 cm. Kept at the Dutch National Maritime Archaeological Depot at Museum Batavialand. Excavated alongside two other figurines from wreck NM24, an iron vessel found in the province of Flevoland, the Netherlands. Wreck date: somewhere after 1904 (based on coin from that year).
