An Exploration of New Approaches to Inheriting the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Youyang

Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County are rich in Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) resources. These resources are of great value to cultural diversity and ethnic identity. However, the dissemination and inheritance of Youyang's ICH is facing challenges such as low public awareness, insufficient involvement of the younger population, limitations of the traditional methods of transmission, and underdeveloped marketing. Therefore, this study explores innovative approaches to preserve and promote Youyang’s ICH through the immersive experience and social attributes of script murder games. Through a synthesis of case study, content analysis, and other methods, the study is a combination of local cultural research and game mechanism design. By analyzing the current status and challenges of Youyang’s ICH, we propose a "script murder games + ICH" integrated model, focusing on cultural innovation, institutional restructuring, and industrial synergy. This model incorporates multi-dimensional strategies, including visual symbol integration, cultural value narratives, cross-sector collaboration, physical game design, and the development of a cultural tourism ecosystem, to explore practical ways to combine ICH elements with script murder games. The study demonstrates that this model not only enhances the dissemination effectiveness of ICH, but also provides new insights into the integration of cultural tourism and innovative ICH heritage in Youyang. It provides both the theoretical foundation and the practical guidance for the modernization of ICH preservation. 酉阳土家族苗族自治县拥有丰富的非物质文化遗产资源，在文化多样性与民族认同中具有重要价值。然而，酉阳非遗的传播与传承面临受众认知度低、年轻群体参与不足、传统传承方式局限以及市场化发展滞后等挑战。为此，本研究以酉阳非遗为研究对象，探讨如何通过剧本杀的沉浸式体验与社交属性，实现非遗文化的创新传播与传承。综合采用案例分析与内容分析等方法，结合地方文化调研与游戏机制设计进行探讨。通过分析酉阳非遗的现状与困境，提出“剧本杀结合非遗文化赋能文化创意产业模式”，在文化创新、机制重构与产业联动三个方面入手，从视觉符号植入、文化价值叙事、跨界协作、实体游戏设计与文旅生态等多个维度，探索非遗元素与剧本杀结合的实践路径。研究表明，该模式不仅能够提升非遗文化的传播效果，还能为酉阳文旅融合与非遗传承创新提供新的发展思路，为非遗的现代化传承提供理论依据与实践参考。
