Spatial Poem No. 2: A Flux Atlas
View through Harvard Museums
This is a record of the second of Shiomi's international mail-art events, which began in 1965. Designed by George Maciunas, it is a map, accordion-folded in four panels, documenting the directions in which the participants in the event were facing at a specified moment on a particular day. For each spatial poem, Shiomi would send a letter to potential participants inviting them to perform an action or event, document it in some way, and send her the documentation. This is the simplest of Shiomi's four Spatial Poems that were designed and published by Maciunas as Fluxus editions.
