AI in HRM: Enhancing Workforce Competency and Organizational Effectiveness

View through CrossRef
Artificial Intelligence is now being used in human resource management reshaping. It plays a significant role in enhancing the competency of human resources in a range of industries. Also, it directly affects human resource management at the workplace. The impact of such AI tools and technologies on the core HRM functions such as labour acquisition, capability assessment, employee development, performance management and workforce planning will be critically discussed in this paper. The academic literature concerns itself mainly with how AI can add value to the HRM decision making process, as per Agrawal (2021). Most authors agree that HRM decision making is still manual and not all effective and hence can be improved by the application of AI. Some authors dwelled upon the various pre-existing theories that can be useful to study the use of AI in HRM. The project draws strictly on academic literature that is non-empirical in nature. The study scrutinizes the efficiency calibration of algorithms on the basis of numerous human algorithmic actions and emergence of paradoxes, especially in the field of human applied management. Executives and professionals can derive maximum advantage from AI by leveraging other pillars of HRM, including strategic decision making, continual learning, leading digital transformation and aligning AI initiatives to organizational purpose. This study emphasizes their significance in improving the productivity of their employees, their effectiveness and their productivity in the long term, in an environment in which artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role. Furthermore, the study is analysing the ethical, organizational and workforce-related implications of using AI in the context of HRM, such as AI bias, employees' privacy and maintaining professional autonomy. It proves that the implementation of AI significantly contributes to enhancing competency in the workforce when implemented by focusing on human aspects with a solid set of ethical guidelines and continuously monitored through the acquired results and norms in the organization's background. Yet, the need of a successful human resource management, which is strongly based on relations, can be rejected by blind application of the AI. This work has been employed to share valuable insights with HR practitioners and organizational leaders in a technology-driven world in which companies need to implement AI in responsible and ethical ways to promote organizational effectiveness and efficiency while preserving the all-important human dimensions in managing their workforces. This research extends the study to how the AI enabled HRM system has transformed organizational agility and provided an opportunity to transform decision intelligence that involved using AI's capabilities in predictive analytics and human-centered approaches. This also involves the importance of constant re-skillings and cross functional co-operation to sustain the transformation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, it points out there are certain gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed on either side of the coin—leveraging AI for innovation, and maintaining trust, inductivity and sustainable workflow in an evolving business landscape. Furthermore, this study's scope is limited to specific contexts, including using AI in HRM in developed economies countries, a specific regulatory environment including UK, India, US, chains, etc. This study is the first to explore the impact of the digital dimension of AI for HRM: the use of cloud platforms for HRM; automation tools for HRM; decision making tools based on data for HRM. Utilization of organisations, different modes of use, through requirements, performance measurements and workforce planning, real time insights through particular approaches realized by Artificial Intelligence.
Title: AI in HRM: Enhancing Workforce Competency and Organizational Effectiveness
