Application of multivariate statistics in the assessment of winter triticale lines
View through CrossRef
The paper presents the results of the application of methods of multivariate statistical data processing in the assessment of winter triticale lines. Based on the compiled database on the average values of the characteristics of 20 lines of winter triticale for 2021–2023, the correlation factors are calculated. A general characteristic of the variability of the characteristics of the model population of winter triticale is given, a slight variation (V < 10 %) in the length of the main ear (8.75 %), the number of spikelets in the main ear (6.38 %), the number of productive stems (6.88 %), gluten deformation index (6.63 %), the number of falls (7.85 %) are noted. The sedimentation rate was characterized by a strong variation – 23.31 %. A significant correlation of grain yield at the 5 % level was established with the number of spikelets and grains from the main ear, the weight of grain from the main ear. Based on the determination factors, a high percentage contribution was noted: to the total grain yield of such structural elements as the mass of grain from the main ear (36.60 %) and the number of grains from the main ear (23.69 %). The tilling capacity (25.02 %), the number of spikelets in the main ear (20.47 %) and the number of grains from the main ear (13.71 %) had the greatest effect on the formation of the mass of 1000 grains; gluten content (30.80 %), the number of drops (21.40 %) and sedimentation rate (16.01%) – on the protein content in grain; protein content (28.26 %), plant height (19.22%), number of drops (18.26 %) and sedimentation rate (15.14%) – for gluten content. It was revealed that 6 hypothetical factors account for 90.98 % of the accumulated variance. Factor loads of characteristics in the model population of winter triticale were established.
Title: Application of multivariate statistics in the assessment of winter triticale lines
Description:
The paper presents the results of the application of methods of multivariate statistical data processing in the assessment of winter triticale lines.
Based on the compiled database on the average values of the characteristics of 20 lines of winter triticale for 2021–2023, the correlation factors are calculated.
A general characteristic of the variability of the characteristics of the model population of winter triticale is given, a slight variation (V < 10 %) in the length of the main ear (8.
75 %), the number of spikelets in the main ear (6.
38 %), the number of productive stems (6.
88 %), gluten deformation index (6.
63 %), the number of falls (7.
85 %) are noted.
The sedimentation rate was characterized by a strong variation – 23.
31 %.
A significant correlation of grain yield at the 5 % level was established with the number of spikelets and grains from the main ear, the weight of grain from the main ear.
Based on the determination factors, a high percentage contribution was noted: to the total grain yield of such structural elements as the mass of grain from the main ear (36.
60 %) and the number of grains from the main ear (23.
69 %).
The tilling capacity (25.
02 %), the number of spikelets in the main ear (20.
47 %) and the number of grains from the main ear (13.
71 %) had the greatest effect on the formation of the mass of 1000 grains; gluten content (30.
80 %), the number of drops (21.
40 %) and sedimentation rate (16.
01%) – on the protein content in grain; protein content (28.
26 %), plant height (19.
22%), number of drops (18.
26 %) and sedimentation rate (15.
14%) – for gluten content.
It was revealed that 6 hypothetical factors account for 90.
98 % of the accumulated variance.
Factor loads of characteristics in the model population of winter triticale were established.
