The nobles of the Church of the chapter of Veszprém in the fourteenth century The purpose of this article is the discussion of the nobles of the Church belonging to the chapter of Veszprém (in Veszprém, Somogy and Zala counties) in the 13th–14th centuries with regard to taxation, litigation and landholding. For most of time, these nobles of the Church initially came from the estates of the Church itself but later they arrived in large numbers from outside the institutional framework of the majority. Legal and economic differences can be detected among the nobles of the Church.
