Top hat of felt with a hat band of wool, Thomas Townend & Co., London, ca. 1950. Top hat of grey felt with a hat band of fine black wool. Lined with ivory coloured silk and the crown is printed with the hatter’s label. The inner hat band is of buff leather with the initials ‘H L T’ punched into it. Inside this band are two paper labels, one giving the size 6 ¾ and the other is a printed pink stamp indicating that the hat is Union made by the Felt hatters and Trimmers Unions. The number 1982 is also printed inside this band. . Felt lined with silk, and leather and wool.
