El mito de la vampiresa Sarah Ellen en la obra de José Donayre: tres soportes góticos que fundan un fantástico criollo peruano

ResumenEl presente artículo hace un análisis comparativo entre tres textos de José Donayre sobre Sarah Ellen: la novela Doble de vampiro (2014), la novela gráfica Tinieblas de ultratumba. La tenebrosa historia de Sarah Ellen (2016) y la compilación de relatos que edita, Trece veces Sarah (2017). Estudia cómo se representa a este personaje histórico bajo una mirada intermedial, prestando atención a la manera como se renuevan los elementos míticos en estos textos, a la vez que estos textos reinventan la imagen de Sarah Ellen, en la construcción de una narrativa fantástica peruana.

AbstractThis article makes a comparative analysis between three texts by José Donayre about Sarah Ellen: the novel Doble de vampiro (2014), the graphic novel Tinieblas de ultratumba. La tenebrosa historia de Sarah Ellen (2016) and the compilation of stories Trece veces Sarah (2017). The article studies how this historical character is represented under an intermediate gaze, focusing on how the mythical elements in these texts are renewed, while these texts reinvent the image of Sarah Ellen, in a construction of a fantastic Peruvian narrative.
