Se presenta un breve bosquejo de las vidas de Beethoven y Goya, desde su infancia hasta su fallecimiento. Músico y pintor triunfan en las sociedades de Viena y Madrid. Los dos acaban siendo sordos profundos. Se discuten opiniones originales sobre la posible etiología de la hipoacusia de ambos protagonistas. Se exponen las similitudes en su vida, obra y personalidad. En muchos aspectos tienen “vidas paralelas”: son contemporáneos, innovadores de su arte, ambos padecen sífilis, tienen un carácter duro y en los dos la sordera influye en su creación artística
