HISTORICAL STYLISTICS IN RUSSIAN LINGUISTICS

The article presents an overview of the development of historical stylistics as one of the directions of Russian linguistics. The main works substantiating the appearance of historical stylistics are indicated, the stages of the formation of this linguistic direction are defined and characterized. The paper describes the distinctive features of each of these stages, identifies the genres of texts characterized from the standpoint of historical stylistics, establishes the features of the stylistic characteristics of written records. The paper provides examples of the most significant theoretical and practical studies carried out from the standpoint of historical stylistics, and indicates possible directions for further study of multi-genre texts in the historical and stylistic aspect. Research using computer programs for semantic text analysis and comparative studies of the stylistic organization of texts in closely related languages are indicated among the possible directions for the development of historical stylistics.
