Mechatronics Course Software
View through CrossRef
Mechatronics is the integrated design of mechanical-electrical-programmable systems. It is helpful for mechatronics instructors to have tested reference software for demonstrations and assignments. This paper details open-source code necessary for a semester-long college level mechatronics course. The software for the mechatronics course includes Arduino code for a range of examples from simple to sophisticated. Arduino microcontrollers are a desirable platform for learning and applying the programmable function of mechatronic systems because they are widely used and have a large support network. The examples build on each other. The examples were vetted in a college course in which students designed systems with integrated sensors, motors, and hardware in a final project.
