Single Sampling by Attributes and by Variables

Abstract
Single sampling plans excel among statistical product inspection procedures. They are simple in structure, intuitive, and easy for implementation. The study of single sampling plans is illustrative for the understanding of acceptance sampling since single sampling plans exemplify all basic features of acceptance sampling in a particularly simple and transparent instance. Single sampling plans are sometimes theoretically inferior to more refined sampling algorithms like double, multiple, and sequential sampling plans. However, simplicity and ease in implementation have made single sampling the most widely used statistical product inspection procedure.
