Sword leaf with eagle on pine pole

The warrior needle develops its own luxurious culture in Japan. The sword is highly valued, even if it is no longer needed as a weapon of war, and the possession of this weapon since 1588 only Samurai is allowed. It is more precious than land ownership and gold. For the forging of the blade and the heavy jewelry, the samurai runs an unimaginable effort. The intricate blade, the sharpness of which is legendary, consists of many folded steel with soft core and harder coat. The leaf, tsuba, which protects the hand from slipping into the blade, is also a status symbol and gives information about the character of the wearer.
