Porträt des Hermann Staudinger als schlafendes Kind

This portrait of a child shows Hermann Staudinger, who later became a chemist and Nobel Prize winner, asleep on a pillow. His father, Franz Staudinger, was a friend of the artist Friedrich Joseph Nebel and probably commissioned the portraits of his son from him. In 1954, Hermann Staudinger was made an honorary citizen of the city of Freiburg.
