Abstract
In this chapter, Taylor Cyr and Matthew Flummer talk with Manuel Vargas about revisionism, the view that we need to revise our concept of free will. First, they discuss other examples of how concepts have been revised over time. Then they discuss how the revisionist sees our commonsense way of thinking about free will as incorrect and then how the revisionist says that we ought to think differently about free will. They conclude by considering how representatives of other positions in the free will debate might object to revisionism, including whether revisionism is just a slightly different form of compatibilism.
