Fritz ReutersFrit, born 1878 in Åkershult, Östra Korsberga parish, Jönköping county, died 1956 in Stockholm, was a Swedish director and artist. He was the son of Colonel Knut Axel Herman ReutersHan and Elisabeth (Betty) Lindström and from 1905 married to opera singer Emelia Charlotta Mathilda Jungstedt and the brother of Patrik Reuterssamt and the uncle of Oscar Reuterssamt and Blanche Reuterswärd-Hallström. He worked as a bank official in 18981904 before he devoted himself to his artistic activities. He became director of the Swedish Art Gallery in Stockholm in 1920 and from 1934 was director of the Konstaktiebolag (Färg and Form). His art consists of: landscape motifs often with a winter screw from the Swedish or Norwegian mountains made in oil or watercolour. He was elected to the Artist’s Club in 1914. His large private collection of Swedish contemporary art was shown in two hiking exhibitions of the Swedish National Association for the Arts in 1953.
