Propositioning the disease uterine fibroid in Siddha Noi Naadal facet: A case study

View through CrossRef
Abstract The Siddha system comprises 96 Thatthuvangal , 3 Uyir Thaathugal , and 7 Udal Kattugal , which are related to 6 Suvaigal and 5 Boodhangal , and derangement in these humors will lead to disease. The system has abundant unique diagnostic methods like Ennvagai thervu , Jothidam , Panchapatchi , and Manikkadai Nool to identify the diseases and their causes. Methods used for physical examination of urine ( Neerkuri and Neikkuri ) and pulse examination ( Naadi ) are considered unique among the eight entities of Ennvagai Thervu and act as confirmatory diagnostic tools. Uterine fibroids (UFs) are common gynecologic benign tumors affecting 70%–80% of women, which arise from the muscular and fibrous tissue of the uterus. Although benign, it is associated with significant morbidity and quality-of-life impairment. This case study of a 40-year-old female with the disease UF, whose treatment was based on Siddha Noi Naadal facets such as Naadi , Neikkuri , Manikkadai Nool , and Jothidam . The chosen medicine ( Chukku Tylam – External; Agathiyar Kuzhambu , Vippurudhi Ennai , Kumari Legium - Internal), along with Naadi Suddhi , demonstrated remarkable improvement, which was clearly reflected in changes observed in Naadi and Neikkuri .
