Elevated Nesfatin-1 and Altered Reproductive Hormones in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Comparative Case-Control Study.
View through CrossRef
A case-control study was conducted on 60 women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and 30 healthy controls. Blood samples were collected to measure reproductive hormones and nesfatin-1 levels. Women with PCOS had significantly higher nesfatin-1 levels compared to the controls. It was also found that nesfatin-1 levels positively correlated with testosterone and estradiol concentrations. Further longitudinal and mechanistic studies are needed to clarify Nesfatin-1’s role in PCOS pathophysiology and its therapeutic implications.
